The world says what?

The world says: Are you bored?
Jesus says: Are you thirsty?

The world says: You only live once, so make it count.
Jesus says: I bought you with a price, and you are mine forever.

The world says: Are you having fun, yet? You should be.
Jesus says: I am your truest joy. Trust me.

The world saysYou blew your best chances long ago.
Jesus says: My mercies are new every morning, and I am making everything new.

The world says:  You’re hopeless and helpless.
Jesus says: I have conquered death and all evil so that you might really live.

The world says: It’s a dog eat dog world.
Jesus says: I am your shield, your comfort, and your very great reward.

The world says: You need to escape reality for a while.
Jesus says: Give me your burdens, and I will give you real rest and real freedom.

The world says: It’s not your fault, you know.
Jesus says: God’s wrath condemned me, so that you might live.

The world says: Try harder, and figure it out.
Jesus says: Your sins are forgiven. Follow me.

The world says: You’re on your own.
Jesus says: I am eternally for you, and I am with you always.

The world says: Who cares, really?
Jesus says: You are precious to me.

The world says: You’d better grab all you can get before it’s all gone.
Jesus says: This is just the beginning, the best is yet to come.

I so often read your words and remember God’s words from that day to my heart or some other day. Hope all of your brood is well. I so often remember David as a 7th or 8th grader and to think of him now as the parent of such! Though I’ve not gotten to know you one on one or close up, I’m thankful for what I see God has done in your life. There is not greater joy than to know that our children walk with the LORD! Blessings on you and yours, Judi Hiller

It all really does come down to WHO we listen to, doesn’t it? Are we drinking in the Truth of God as opposed to the truth of the world. Huge difference! Thanks for clearly presenting the dichotomy. Jesus words are powerful!
