Keeping Watch

Did you wake up disheartened or distressed this morning?

Are you unsure of the right way to go, the right things to say, or even the right way to think about things? Whose counsel do you seek as you wrestle with all the things that keep you up – so agitated and angry – at night? Whose words offer you sufficient light and help on the road ahead?

May the the wisdom of God dwell in you richly and shepherd your soul.

For if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1)

May the Spirit of God guard your thoughts, and words, and all your actions.

Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. (Psalms 141)

May the peace of God rule in your hearts, minds, and conversations.

For he who loves purity of heart, and whose speech is gracious, the king is his friend. (Proverbs 22)

Take heart and be glad this morning, saints. For we live and move in God’s kingdom and he cares for us. Stay alert and remain tender to the Word of Christ that gives light to your path and new life to your bones.

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. (2 Chronicles 16)

And because we serve the true King – peace to you today, and always.

  1. Thank you for your heart like His Kim. Your recent words have convicted and rid me of stinking’ thinkin’ and dark attitudes. Your questions caused me to “drop my rocks.” I am grateful God’s light shone into my dark places.
